I began my writing life by keeping a nature journal when I was thirteen but I had to wait until I was thirty three before my first book was published! I was very lucky though. The first publisher to see my work encouraged me to continue and develop and eventually published my first book.
My first book Life science was published in 1981 and was reprinted several times in the eighties. When I showed it by way of introduction to a group of teachers in 1990 one screamed “I used that!” It may well be that some grandparents today used this book with its distinctive cover.
A chance call by Merit (science kit makers) to my publishers (Hulton Educational) while I was finishing Life Science led to me also devising their Microworld Microscope sets which came out later in the year.
These two set me off on my writing career shown below. Many of my out of print books are still available on Amazon and Microworld sometimes appears on e Bay as a collectors item!
