A Fossil Hunt on the Jurassic Coast
The Jurassic Coast is England’s first World Heritage Site.
Liesl had to write a diary entry as part of her homework for school and chose to write about her fossil hunting trip there:
“On Monday 6th April 2015, my family and I went to Charmouth on the Jurassic Coast for a fossiling adventure!
After a long treacherous walk along the rocky coastline, we finally found the perfect spot.
I was so desperate to have hold of a belemnite, but my mummy was so clever that she found two!”
Here’s a great video showing the extraction of an almost complete Ichthyosaurus fossil on the Jurassic Coast a couple of years ago.
